2020 Alumni Update

Time to catch up with the class of 2020. For the following players it was their true freshman year. Due to COVID-19 policies, all players will retain their eligibility from this season. So although they will be in their second year of college next season, they will have the potential remain their same athletic eligibility.

Joey Barker (Superior) - UW-Superior
Appeared in 6 games and started 5 of them as a true freshman. Averaged 5.3ppg and 2.9rpg, while shooting 30.8% (4-13) from three-point range. Scored a career-high 10 points against Martin Luther, along with 2 rebounds and a perfect 5-5 from the free throw line in that game.

Jayden Bernard (Virginia) - Jamestown
Was not on the roster for the Jimmies.

Kyle Bilodeau (Chetek-Weyerheauser) - UW-Superior
Played in two games as a true freshman. Did not record any statistics in his first career game. Recorded 2 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 blocks against North Central (MN).

Bjorn Branham (South Shore) - Gogebic
Appeared in 7 games and averaged 2.3 minutes per game. Only took two shots on the shortened season, but made both. Made his only three-point attempt on the season in a game against Dakota County Tech. Recorded 5 total points with no other statistics.

Ethan Breheim (Alma Center Lincoln) - UW-Stevens Point
Was not on the roster for the Pointers.

Vaughn Breit (Stratford) - UW-Stevens Point
Was not on the roster for the Pointers.

Jonathan Davis (La Crosse Central) - Wisconsin
Appeared in 31 games as a true freshman for the Badgers, while playing 24.4 minutes a game. Averaged 7.0ppg and 4.1rpg, while shooting 38.9% from three-point range. Scored a career-high (17 points) against Penn State, while also knocking down 4 three-pointers, grabbing 4 rebounds, and creating 3 steals. Heading into his sophomore season he participated with USA Basketball in the FIBA 19U World Cup, winning the gold medal. 

Jordan Davis (La Crosse Central) - Wisconsin
Played in 13 games as a true freshman for the Badgers, receiving 1.5 minutes per game. Scored 3 points in two separate games, tallying for a total of 8 points this season. Grabbed 1 rebound on the season for his only other statistic.

Levi Ewan (Rib Lake) - UW-Stevens Point
Appeared in 1 games for the Pointers, totaling 5 minutes on the shortened season. Added 2 assists on the season for his only statistic.

Peyton Fedell (Escanaba) - Bay
Played in 2 games for 2 total minutes. Did not record a shot attempt or any other statistics. Was not on the Bay College roster at the end of the season.

Ashton Janke (Dollar Bay) - Bay
Started 23 of the 24 games Bay played this season as a true freshman. Averaged 7.1ppg, 3.5rpg, and 1.3apg while shooting 37.8% from three-point range. Recorded career-highs in points (16) and rebounds (7) and added 3 assists against Glen Oaks CC. 

Marcus Johnson (Iron Mountain) - Ripon
Transferred to Bay College before participating with the team at Ripon. Averaged 11.3ppg, 4.4rpg, and 2.3apg while coming off the bench for the Bay College Norse in the 10 games he played in. Scored a career-high (19 points) against Bryant & Stratton CC while going 4-11 from three-point range. 

Eion Kresson (McDonell Central) - St. Mary's
Played in 2 games as a true freshman and totaled 11 minutes. Only recorded statistics was grabbing 2 rebounds in a game against St. John's.

Drew Lindberg (Negaunee) - Northland
Played in 5 of Northland's 8 games as a true freshman. Averaged 4.4ppg and 1.2rpg while shooting 50% (5-10) from three-point range. Scored a career-high (11 points) against St. Scholastica in the final game of the season. 

Sam Lohn (Duluth Marshall) - Gustavus Adolphus
Was not on the roster for the Gusties.

Tommy Lundin (Ironwood) - Gogebic
Played in 8 of the 9 games this season for the Samsons, while making 1 start in the final game against United Tribes Tech. Averaged 1.9ppg and 2.9rpg as a true freshman. Scored a career-high (7 points) against Finlandia, while also having 5 rebounds and 2 blocks. 

Sam Millard (Wisconsin Dells) - UW-Platteville
Played in 2 games as a true freshman for the Pioneers. Did not record any statistics in roughly one minute per game.

Cody Miller (Princeton) - Valley City State
Played in 8 games as a true freshman, averaging 5.4 minutes per game. Averaged 1.4ppg while shooting 66.7% from the field. Finished his season at Valley City State, but has decided to transfer to UW-Stout.

Kayden Palmi (South Ridge) - Northland
Appeared in 3 games as a true freshman for the LumberJacks while playing 3.7 minutes per game. Finished the season with 2 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 assist.

Kade Panich (Wautoma) - Northland
Appeared in all 8 games (started 7) as a true freshman for Northland, averaging 18.1 minutes per game. Averaged 2.3ppg and 1.9rpg while leading the team in assists (14). Scored a career-high (5 points) twice, both times against St. Scholastica. Grabbed 6 rebounds against Northwestern. Had 3 assists in multiple games.

Josh Parrow (Onamia) - Central Lakes CC
Due to conference policy, Central Lakes did not play any games during the COVID-19 year.

Ryan Peterson (Northland Pines) - UW-Stevens Point
Appeared in 2 games as a true freshman for the Pointers, averaging 6 minutes per game. Recorded 1 rebound and 1 assist on the shortened season.

Steven Petkau (Rib Lake) - Emmaus Bible
Started all 24 games that he played in as a true freshman for the Eagles. Averaged 14.5ppg, 5.2 rpg, and 2.3apg, while shooting 35.4% (45-127) from three-point range. Scored a career-high (25 points) against Manhattan Christian, along with 3 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 block. 

Aidan Polzin (Clintonville) - Lakeland
Had a breakout true freshman season for the Muskies while appearing in every game and starting 10 of them. Averaged 13.3ppg and 4.5rpg while shooting 40.9% (36-88) from three-point range. Lead the team in three-pointers made (36) for the season. Recorded career-highs in points (46) and rebounds (11) in a win against Edgewood, while recording his only double-double of the season. Following that performance, he was named the NACC North Division Player of the Week.

Josh Reinertsen (Duluth Denfeld) - UW-Superior
Appeared in 5 games as a true freshman, starting in one of those games. Averaged 4.6ppg and 1.8rpg, while shooting 38.5% (5-13) from three-point range. Scored a career-high 10 points against Bethany Lutheran in his first game.

Blake Richard (Chequamegon) - Northland
Appeared in 5 games as a true freshman for the LumberJacks, averaged 8.0 minutes per game. Averaged 1.8ppg and 0.4rpg for the shortened season. All recorded 1 assist, 1 steal, and 1 block. Scored a career-high (4 points) against St. Scholastica in the first game of the season.

Ethan Ries (Thorp) - Concordia Wisconsin
Did not appear in any games for the Falcons as a true freshman.

Noah Schradle (Cumberland) - UW-Eau Claire
Appeared in 2 games as a true freshman for the Blugolds while receiving limited minutes. Did not record any statistics during the shortened season.

Kaden Schuls (Florence) - Northland
Was not on the roster for the LumberJacks.

Brad Simonsen (Houghton) - Michigan Tech
Played in 10 games as a true freshman for the Huskies, with flocculating minutes throughout the season. Averaged 2.4ppg and 1.4rpg while shooting 44.4% (8-18) from three-point range. Scored a career-high (12 points) against Davenport while making 4 three-pointers.

Ben Smith (Luck) - Northland
Appeared in all 8 games (started 3) as a true freshman for Northland, averaged 15.3 minutes per game. Averaged 1.4ppg and 1.5rpg for the season. Recorded 2 assists, 2 steals, and 1 block. Score his career-high (6 points) against North Central, while grabbing 3 rebounds and blocking 1 shot.

Blaze Smith (Mellen) - Gogebic
Appeared in 7 games as a true freshman for Gogebic, while playing 6.2 minutes per game. Averaged 1.0ppg while shooting 50% (1-2) from three-point range. His only made three-pointer on the season gave him his career-high (3 points) against Riverland CC.

Isaac Soumis (Thorp) - Southwest Minnesota State
Played in 7 games as a true freshman and averaged 9.0 minutes per game. Averaged 1.1ppg and 1.6rpg and recorded 3 assists and 2 blocks. Scored 5 points in his first career game against Minot State. He is not listed on the Mustangs roster heading into the 2021-2022 season.

Peter Soumis (Hermantown) - Minnesota-Duluth
Played in 5 games and averaged 4.8 minutes per game. Scored 3 points, grabbed 1 rebounds, and dished out 2 assists for his only recorded statistics. No longer playing at Minnesota-Duluth.

John Sutherland (Grand Rapids) - Minnesota-Duluth
Played in 12 games as a true freshman and averaged 11.1 minutes a game. Posted 3.3ppg and 2.8rpg while shooting 53.3% from the field. Scored a carrer-high 10 points against Minnesota-Moorhead, while also grabbing 4 rebounds. Transferred to Bemidji State at the end of the school year.

Peter Sutton (Cook County) - Northwestern
Appeared in 6 games on the season while averaging just over 3 minutes a game. Scored a total of 7 points on the season with a career-high of 3 points in his first game. Also finished the season with 4 rebounds, 1 assist, and 3 steals. The Eagles went on to win the UMAC Tournament. Also became NCCAA Tournament National Champions after defeating Ottawa University Arizona, 82-75.

Kevin Thomas (Hermantown) - St. Scholastica
Played in 6 games as a true freshman, averaging 2.5 minutes a game. Scored his only 2 points of the season against Northland. Also totaled 2 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 block on the season.

Tyler Tuura (Crandon) - Northland
Played in 1 game as a true freshman for the LumberJacks, but was able to record 14 minutes. Scored 2 points, grabbed 3 rebounds, added 1 assist, and blocked 1 shot.

Tommy Tiffany (Hayward) - Northland
Appeared in 7 games (started 1) as a true freshman for Northland, averaged 7.9 minutes per game. Recorded 2 points, 10 rebounds, and 4 assists during the shortened season.

Terrance Thompson (La Crosse Central) - UW-Green Bay
Appeared in 24 games (started 15) as a true freshman for the Phoenix. Averaged 4.0ppg and 3.0rpg, while shooting 29.4% (5-17) from three-point range. Scored a career-high (11 points) in a game against Youngstown State, while also grabbing 4 rebounds. Decided to transfer from Green Bay after the season ended, and will be attending Navarro College (JUCO) next season.

Jason Waterman (Negaunee) - Michigan Tech
Played in 1 game for the Huskies and clocked 2 minutes against Purdue Northwest. Missed the only shot he attempted for the season. Recorded no other statistics for his true freshman season.

Peyton Wefel (Esko) - St. Scholastica
Appeared in 1 game as a true freshman. Scored 3 points and grabbed 1 rebound. Those were his only recorded statistics on the season.

Luke Zakovec (Mellen) - Northland
Was not on the roster for the LumberJacks.
