Northwoods Hoops World Update 1.0
WELCOME TO THE NORTHWOODS HOOPS WORLD! Your resource for everything boys' high school basketball information in Northeastern Minnesota, Northern Wisconsin, and the Upper Peninsula!
What you will find on the Northwoods Hoops World blog:
1. Player Rankings - The player rankings will be updated periodically throughout the year, tentatively once a month. There won't be any breakdown between different states, every player will be in the same ranking database. With our eyes for recruiting as former college coaches, we feel that our rankings will be fair. Although, no ranking will ever be completely accurate. All of our rankings will be based on our personal outlook of each player based on skills, stats, and potential. Outside rankings from different recruiting sites won't have any impact on our ranking system.
2. Team Rankings - The team rankings will be updated throughout the season, ideally every week. Along with this, we will be posting individual and team Performances of the Week. In the future, we will be looking to add a ranking system based on some mathematical formula to give our followers an unbiased ranking for all teams.
3. Schedules/Scores/Conference Standings - We will post weekly schedules for games that are happening each week. We will plan on updated scores to allow our followers to stay caught up on all the action. Any help from our followers on scores that we may miss is always greatly appreciated.
4. College Updates - Our biggest things here will be college commitments and alumni updates. It's always fun to keep track of players and how they are doing at the next level.
5. Season Predictions/News - Multiple predictions will be made throughout the season. Starting with state season previews, conference predictions, playoff predictions, and Mr. Basketball predictions. Throughout the season, we will also be updating our followers on how these are progressing. We will talk about games to watch, projected conference MVPs, and other top players to watch.
6. Off-season Tournaments/Leagues - Staying on top of off-season basketball action is going to be a major part of our player rankings and season predictions. Getting out and watching some of the local teams that we may not see as much in the regular season will give us more accurate opinions. This page will include summer/fall leagues, AAU events, high school tournaments, and college team camp tournaments.
Stayed tuned while we do our best to keep you updated on basketball in the Northwoods!
